An exhaust cone placed aft of the turbine in a jet engine will cause the pressure in the first part of the exhaust duct to

  • increase and the velocity to decrease.
  • decrease and the velocity to increase.
  • increase and the velocity to increase.

The type of duct that forms the exhaust cone will determine what happens with the pressure and temperature. I distinguish 2 types of cone and therefore 2 types of conduit: 1 / convergent - divergent 2 / divergent

Diverdeep: the exhaust cone to maximize thrust has to increase efflux speed not pressure....

A ballast resistor is fitted

  • in parallel, to give identical readings for all engines.
  • in series, to give identical resistance values for all engines.
  • in series, to give identical resistance values to all airframes.

explanation?

Jordi: basically you have to keep in mind that it's purpose it giving information about the resistance between the airframes. That is all. This is a ballast resistor from google images.https://cdn3.volusion.com/hgyae.utpfj/v/vspfiles/photos/S1210-2.jpg?v-cache=1584228783
