If part of a display is lost on a CRT, this could be due to

  • an inoperative symbol generator or control panel.
  • an inoperative symbol generator or input sensor.
  • an inoperative EFIS control panel or data bus.
M

manin asked · 16 Jun 2013

inoperative input sensor would give flag but it can be considered as some sort of display but not missing as such and if the display has missing part, may be it's not selected in control pannel.correct me if i'm wrong.

trap2307: Hello. I think that answer is logical. Location of problem is from symbol generator to input sensor. We can't deactivate part of CRT in control panel.

hasdim_1969 asked · 9 Jan 2013

hasdim_1969: why answering computations as instructed is wrong? Aren't computations addition, subtraction, multiplication and division?

If on a flight deck EFIS system all the displays were missing one bit of information. This is most likely to be

  • the input sensor bus and display controller.
  • the input sensor bus and display processor.
  • the display controller and symbol generator.
H

hasdim_1969 asked · 28 Dec 2012

why should the symbol generator be faulty since each dislay is driven by a different one? (unless of course when all other symbol generators have failed)

PART66Online: Hello. You right. Today I received 2 reports by row where people said that ACARS means ARINC Communicating Addressing and Reporting System so I changed to ARINC without making sure. Now after your message I checked and you right. Thanks.
