Module 5. Digital techniques / Electronic instrument systems

Electronic Centralised Aircraft Monitoring System

  • show green and white advisory messages to display system health.
  • give blue and white caution messages to display system faults.
  • give red warnings and amber cautions to display system status.

Explanation

ECAM uses a colour-coded alerting convention in which red denotes warnings requiring immediate action and amber denotes cautions, conveying system status to the crew. Green/white and blue/white message schemes do not match the ECAM warning/caution colour coding.
