To deflect the beam of a CRT horizontally, coils are placed on the neck of the tube
- top and bottom.
- left and right.
- diagonally opposite.
Explanation
Magnetic deflection acts at right angles to the field, so to move the beam horizontally the magnetic field must be vertical. A vertical field is produced by deflection coils placed at the top and bottom of the tube neck, which gives the required horizontal deflection of the beam.
sasna asking:
the answer is left and right using vert. x plates also for coil ...????

For horizontal deflection coils are placed at top and bottom but plates at left and right.
