gav_18s asked · 22 Jul 2014
how do you work this out?
KUSH: questions like this should be clearly set because there is a difference between : log 100/2 and (log 100)/2 log 100/2 = log 100 - log 2 = 2 - 0.3010 = 1.699 and log (log 100)/2 = 2/2 = 1

What is the supplement of 13 degrees 13 minutes 13 seconds?
syafinaz9092 asked · 17 Jan 2015
somebody can explain? thanks
bharatbc: There are two famous methods for representing degrees and their fractional parts. 1.Decimal degree method e.g 76.45 degrees 2.DMS(degree minute second) method e.g 167 degrees 46 minutes 47 seconds As we know that if the sum of the measures of two angles is equals to 180 degrees, the angles are supplementary. To find the supplement of any angle, subtract the angle from 180 degrees. first write the 180 degrees in the form of degree minute second as required. 180 degrees=179 degrees 59 minutes 60 seconds (borrow 1 degree from 180 degrees. 1 degree = 60 minutes. again borrow 1 minute from 60 minutes.1 minute =60 seconds) now subtract 13 seconds from 60 seconds i.e 60-13=47 seconds , subtract 13 minutes from 59 minutes i.e 59-13=46 minutes and subtract 13 degrees from 179 degrees i.e 179-13=166 degrees therefore answer is 166 degrees 46 minutes 47 seconds To find complement of any angle, replace 180 degrees with 90 degrees and follow same process.
Evaluate (3x^2 - 6xy) / (x-2y).
hitman asked · 14 Sep 2014
how you evaluate this?
llew89_123: Firstly if you simplify the first part of this (3x^2-6xy). You can do this by finding the common values in both 3x^2 and -6xy. Coincidentally this (x-2y), so this ill now read 3x(x-2y). A good tip is to multiply back out the bracket once you have found this to double check the first park of the answer. Now substitute this back into the original question so it reads 3x(x-2y)/(x-2y). Looking at this you can now cancel out both the (x-2y) on either side to leave you with 3x on its own.

Can someone please explain?
Sina: (2x)^2 * (z)^2 * (3x - z^2 ) = 4x^2 * z^2 * (3x-z^2) = {(4x^2 * z^2)*(3x) - (4x^2 * z^2)*(-z^2)} = 12x^3 * z^2 - 4x^2 * z4 Thus; (12x^3*z^2 - 4x^2*z4) / 2 ==> 6x^3 * z^2 - 2x^2 * z^4
