Why
Jordi: First you need to know that the formula which gives us the surface area of a circle is A=4pir^2.Then you just need to place the number 2 into the formula without changing the pi and then you have 2*2*pi*4=16pi.

I don't understand the passage from cm to m^3
Jordi: you need to change the cm to m .To change them you need to divide by 100 everything you see.For example.4cm=0.04m and so on.Then you apply the formula of the volume which is V=B*h and in our situation it is the multiplication of all the things that are given to us.

Alessio990: Because you have a circumference. From this you get the diamter 12/3.14=3.8 after this you get the radius 3.8/2=1.91. Finally you use the formula of the area r^2*3.14 so 1.91^2*3.14 is aproximatelly 11.3 cm^2.

By degrees does it mean hours? sorry I'm confused.
JD2016: Most stuff in Maths is not obvious. Maths is all about tricks. When someone shows you the trick, you can understand it. Maths builds on previous learning. So if you miss out on the tricks early on in the process, it can hamper you badly later. E.g. missing a few days at school can leave you without some of the tricks you need later on. The teacher assumes you know those tricks.
