A cone's volume is (1/3)*pi*r^2*h. The radius is half the 1.8 m diameter, so r = 0.9 m; then (1/3)*pi*0.9^2*0.6 = (1/3)*pi*0.81*0.6 which is about 0.51, rounding to 0.5 cubic metres. Omitting the 1/3 factor would roughly triple the answer.
