A 48-volt direct current source is required to furnish 192 watts to a parallel circuit consisting of three resistors of equal value. What is the value of each resistor?

  • 4 ohm.
  • 36 ohm.
  • 12 ohm.

How do you work this out?

squareroot: give Voltage=48v, Power=192W so total Current.= powervoltage = 19248 = 4 A total resistance = VoltageCurrent = 484 = 12 ohms circuit have 3 equal parallel resistor then each resistor have value = 12-3 = 36 ohms

The instantaneous value of the EMF induced in a rotating wire loop is

  • directly proportional to the sine of the angle between the loop and the field.
  • indirectly proportional to the sine of the angle between the loop and the field.
  • directly proportional to the cosine of the angle between the loop and the field.

how do you get cosine?

Ptarbin: when the loop is parallel with the field, how is that 0degrees? I thought if the loop is parallel with the field the loop is at 90 and 270, therefore making emf proportional to Sine.
