An autotransformer is

  • primary and secondary coils.
  • primary coil only.
  • primary and secondary coils on single bar.

Explanation

An autotransformer has a single tapped winding on one core, so its primary and secondary sections share the same coil rather than being electrically separate. The tap point sets the output, and part of the winding is common to both input and output. A two-separate-coil arrangement describes an ordinary transformer instead.
