Module 3. Electrical fundamentals

In what equipment is a photon radiated when an electron leaves a hole?

  • Photo-cell.
  • LED.
  • Photo diode.

Explanation

In a light-emitting diode, forward current pushes electrons across the junction where they recombine with holes; as each electron drops into a hole it releases its surplus energy as a photon, producing light. A photodiode and photo-cell work the opposite way, absorbing incoming photons to generate current rather than emitting light.

Hi.
Photon radiated means emitted a light. Only LED emits light in these 3 options.
