Was trying to find the correct answer to it and i would pick the offered one, because dual mode is the normal mode of the system. In DUAL mode the two FMCs communicate with each other(crosstalk). When crosstalk or re-synchronization is attempted and fails, each FMC will revert to a completely INDEPENDENT mode of operation without crosstalk. So, if 1 FMS fails, it is not going to take any info from the other FMS until synchronization condition are met.

no dont be confused,it talks about the FMS as a system and thus it goes blank. If it said like in an other question 'FMS CDU" and not FMS only then yes it would be ok with the remaining one.
