Versine signal is governed by
- roll
- pitch
- yaw
Explanation from PART66Online
Versine means one minus the cosine of an angle. When an aircraft banks, the lift vector tilts and its vertical component falls to lift times the cosine of the bank angle, so the vertical lift lost is proportional to the versine of the roll angle. The autopilot uses this versine signal to add up elevator in the pitch channel and hold altitude in the turn. It is governed by roll; pitch is only where it is applied, and yaw plays no part.
