The length of a hose assembly with elbowed end fittings is taken from
- the maximum length of the straight hose portion.
- the extreme overall length of the assembly.
- the centre of the bore at the nipple extremity.
Explanation
For a hose with elbowed (angled) end fittings, the assembly length is measured to the centre of the bore at the extremity of each nipple, giving a consistent reference at the fluid path. Taking the extreme overall length or just the straight portion would not correspond to the standard dimensioning of the fitting.
