Module 7. Maintenance practices

Galvanic corrosion refers to a type of

  • corrosion between two pieces of material.
  • electrochemical plating process between metal layers.
  • uniform surface corrosion across the exposed area.

JD2016 asking:

"two pieces of material" - this is a sloppy question - one piece of "material" could be plastic and the other metal!

this isnt sloppy, galvanic corrosion or electrochemical as it is also called,to happen needs 2 things:1 2 different pieces of material and secondly the presence of an electrolyte.
