Module 15. Gas turbine engine

Supervisory E.E.C sends its output to the

  • fuel valve.
  • H.M.U/F.F.G.
  • EGT thermocouple circuit.

Explanation

A supervisory EEC does not drive the fuel valves directly; instead it sends its trimming commands to the hydromechanical unit or fuel-flow governor. That unit then meters the actual fuel to the engine under the EEC's supervision. The EEC output therefore goes to the HMU/FFG, not to a fuel valve or the EGT circuit.

What is M.U/F.F.G.?

Why not to the FMU... Feul Metering unit. Why is GE preffered when examinating... what if one only knows about RR or P&W engines how would one pass a test?
