When testing an E.G.T system
- the O.A.T is always taken into consideration.
- the O.A.T is neglected.
- O.A.T is only taken into consideration when over20degreesC.
Explanation
A thermocouple measures the temperature difference between its hot and cold (reference) junctions, so the cold-junction/outside-air temperature affects the reading. When testing an EGT system the OAT must always be taken into account to apply the correct cold-junction compensation and verify accuracy.
