Module 11. Aeroplane aerodynamics, structures and systems

What colour is the strobe light on the PORT wing?

  • White.
  • Green.
  • Red.

Explanation

Strobe (high-intensity anti-collision) lights are white and flash on both wing tips for conspicuity. The coloured port/starboard navigation lights (red on port, green on starboard) are separate steady lights, so the strobe on the port wing is white, not red.

hongyanhong asking:

why not red?

Hey!

Don't confuse strobe lights with right-of-way lights. Strobe is always white. It blinks.
