What must you do to make a 3 F capacitor circuit into a 2 F circuit?
- Put a 2 F capacitor in parallel.
- Put a 6 F capacitor in series.
- Put a 1 F capacitor in series.
Explanation from PART66Online
Capacitors in series combine like resistors in parallel: 1/C = 1/C1 + 1/C2. Placing 6 F in series with 3 F gives (3 * 6)/(3 + 6) = 18/9 = 2 F. Adding a capacitor in parallel would increase, not reduce, the total.

a capacitor of 3 Farad
the question is: "how i must to connect another capacitor for have a total capacitance of 2 Farad?"
If you put a capacitor of 6 Farad IN SERIES with a 3 Farad if you apply the correct formula:
1/Cx plus 1/Cy = 1/C equivalent
