Module 13. Aircraft aerodynamics, structures and systems

Other than spoilers, where are speed brakes located?

  • Either side of the Fuselage
  • Under the Fuselage
  • On the wing

Explanation

Apart from wing-mounted spoilers, dedicated speed brakes are fitted on either side of the fuselage, deploying into the airstream to add drag without dumping wing lift. Mounting them on the wing would simply duplicate the spoiler function.
