In a combined pitot-static probe, while carrying out a leak check, which instrument is most likely to be effected by over pressure?

  • ASI
  • VSI
  • Altimeter

The vertical speed indicator contains a sensitive diaphragm and a calibrated capillary leak, making it the most delicate of the pressure instruments. During a combined probe leak check an over-pressure surge is most likely to strain or damage the VSI first, whereas the ASI and altimeter capsules are more robust against momentary over-pressure.

its VSI because vsi is connected to static and it calculates changes in static pressure..
