Which part of the rotor disc produces the most lift during forward flight?

  • The mid-span portion.
  • The front portion.
  • The rear portion.

Explanation

Because of flapping and the phase lag between aerodynamic input and blade response, the corrected lift distribution in forward flight peaks over the front of the disc, where blade flapping brings the angle of attack to its highest effective value. The advancing and retreating sides are balanced by flapping, leaving the front portion of the disc generating the most lift.

yes it is it is also called advancing blade and it produces the most lift.

For forward flight the rotor disc must be tilted forward, so the aft portion of the disc should be producing more lift to achieve this (move cyclic forward).
