The Sine wave signals of a circular time base are

  • in phase.
  • phase separated by 90degrees.
  • phase separated by 180degrees.

Explanation from PART66Online

A circular trace on a timebase is produced by applying two sine waves of equal amplitude that are 90 degrees out of phase to the horizontal and vertical deflection systems. In-phase signals would draw a straight diagonal line, and a 180-degree difference would also give a straight line, not a circle.

it moves like a clock,that is why they have 90 degree difference.
