What happens to the current in a series resistive resonant circuit?

  • It is maximum.
  • It is minimum.
  • It is zero.

At resonance in a series circuit the inductive and capacitive reactances cancel, leaving only the resistance, so impedance is at its minimum. Because impedance is minimum, the current driven by the supply is at its maximum value.

Isn't it that at resonant, we have high impedance hence we should have minimum current flow?

At resonance the impedance is minimum (zero apart from the resistance in the circuit) and so current is highest.
