Module 3. Electrical fundamentals

In conventional current flow, what is Fleming`s right hand rule used for?

  • Generators.
  • Motors.
  • Inductors.

Explanation

Fleming's right-hand rule relates the directions of motion, magnetic field and induced current, so it applies to generators where motion in a field produces an e.m.f. Motors use Fleming's left-hand rule, which gives the direction of force on a current-carrying conductor in a field.
