78+(78*0.03) = 80.34 or

elongation is the process of lengthening something, thus the length of the cable is increased by 3%. therefore 3% of 78 is 2.34.
The new length is 78+2.34 = 80.34cm
The new length is 78+2.34 = 80.34cm
