Module 2. Physics

The oscillation produced by a pendulum 2500mm long has a periodic time of

  • 6 seconds.
  • 3 seconds.
  • 9 seconds.

Explanation

With length 2500 mm = 2.5 m, the period is T = 2 pi times the square root of L/g = 2 pi x square root of (2.5 / 9.81), which is about 2 pi x 0.505 = 3.17 s, rounded to 3 seconds. Period depends only on length and gravity, not the bob mass.

T = 2xπ√L/g = √2.5/10 = 6 * √0.25 = 6 * 0.5 = 3

t=2*pi*sq.root(2,5/9,81)=3,14s
