Module 3. Electrical fundamentals

If the energy supplied to a circuit for 4hrs 15 minutes at 800 j/sec what would be the energy consumed?

  • 3.4 KW Hrs.
  • 3400 KW Hrs.
  • 340 KW Hrs.

Explanation

Power is 800 J/s = 800 W = 0.8 kW. The time is 4 h 15 min = 4.25 h. Energy = power * time = 0.8 kW * 4.25 h = 3.4 kWh, confirming the marked answer. The larger figures come from forgetting to convert watts to kilowatts.

calculate how much J will be supplied in 4 hours and 15 mins, after that convert that calculation from MJ to KW/h.
