Deployment of flaps will result in

  • a decrease in stall angle.
  • an increase in stall angle.
  • a decrease in angle of attack.

Lowering flaps increases the camber of the aerofoil, so the airflow separates at a lower geometric angle of attack than with the clean wing. The wing therefore reaches its stall at a smaller angle of attack, even though it produces more lift and a lower stall speed. Hence flap deployment decreases the stalling angle of attack.

is the reason for this is increase in drag??/

Drag is increased because of changed properties of the wing when flap is deployed. Just check drag formula ( almost same as for lift ).
