Explanation from PART66Online
The Machmeter is fed pitot (and static) pressure, and because Mach number is the ratio of true airspeed to the local speed of sound it varies with altitude through the changing static pressure. The ASI and VSI do not combine pitot with an altitude-dependent correction in this way.

Because there is no relation between airspeed and altitude where as "Mach meter indicates the ratio of aircraft speed to the speed of sound at the particular 'ALTITUDE'"

you mean to say that static port connection to ASI has no role???????
