Module 1. Mathematics

What is the surface area of a cylindrical pipe of length 150 cm and diameter 5cm?

  • 750pi cm^2
  • 1500pi cm^2
  • 3750pi cm^2

Explanation

The curved surface area of a cylinder is pi times the diameter times the length. With diameter 5 cm and length 150 cm this gives pi x 5 x 150 = 750pi cm^2. Using twice the diameter or the radius incorrectly would double the result.

surface area = 150 * 5 * π or 750π
