The word 'of' means multiply, so 5/8 x 4/5 = (5 x 4)/(8 x 5) = 20/40 = 1/2. Cancelling the 5s before multiplying leaves 4/8, the same result. 25/32 is the result of 5/8 x 5/4, which inverts the second fraction instead of multiplying by it. 3/4 is larger than 5/8, but multiplying by 4/5, which is less than 1, must make the answer smaller.

one easyest exemple is: fin the value of 5/8 of 3 (3*4/8=12/8=3/2)
so, in your chase is 5/8*4/5=20/40=1/2
so, in your chase is 5/8*4/5=20/40=1/2
