If the fabric on a wood/fabric aircraft has lost its strength
- the fabric can be treated with a rejuvenator
- the fabric can be treated with additional coats of the approved type of dope.
- the fabric must be replaced.
Explanation
Once fabric covering has lost its tensile strength it can no longer be made airworthy by surface treatment, so it must be replaced. Rejuvenator and additional dope only restore the protective coatings and tautness; they cannot restore lost fibre strength.
Diverdeep asking:
anyone can explain??
