Module 13. Aircraft aerodynamics, structures and systems

When can the FMS be engaged with the autothrottle

  • only after take off
  • With either the Flight Director or the Digital Control System (DFCS) engaged
  • only with the Flight Director selected

Explanation

The FMS navigation guidance coupled with the autothrottle is engaged only after the aircraft is airborne following take-off, once a safe altitude and clean flight regime are established. It is not armed for the take-off roll itself, when manual thrust and the take-off mode govern the initial climb.

Jordi asking:

I think this should have another option saying "before take off" because i have this as the correct answer
