Fluorescent tubes for the cabin lighting are powered from

  • 115 volts from ac bus
  • 200 volts from ac bus
  • high voltage produced by transformer ballast units

Explanation from PART66Online

Fluorescent tubes need a high striking voltage to ionise the gas and then a controlled current to sustain the discharge. In aircraft cabin lighting this is supplied by transformer/ballast units that step the supply up to the required high voltage and limit the running current, rather than the tubes being run directly off the 115 V bus.

i think this is wrong it should be 115V ac not high voltage.
