Module 13. Aircraft aerodynamics, structures and systems

T.C.A.S transmits squitter pulses on a frequency of

  • 1060 MHz
  • 1030 MHz
  • 1090MHz

Explanation

TCAS transmits its squitter broadcasts on 1090 MHz, the same frequency used by Mode S transponder replies, so that other TCAS-equipped aircraft can passively detect and track it. The 1030 MHz figure is the interrogation frequency, not the squitter transmit frequency.

Jordi asking:

This is wrong guys it should be 1030 .The receiving is on 1090Mhz the transmitting is 1030.
