Module 11. Aeroplane aerodynamics, structures and systems

If the straight and level stall speed is 100 kt, what will be the stall speed in a 1.5g turn?

  • 81 kts
  • 122 kts
  • 150 kts

Explanation

Stall speed increases with the square root of the load factor. In a 1.5g turn the new stall speed is 100 kt times the square root of 1.5, which is about 100 times 1.22, roughly 122 kt.
