Why would de-icing be used in high air temperature?

Could somebody explain this one please. I thought de-icing would be checked via the ammeter and looking for the current drop between cycles.

Is this correct? I thought some turbo props used AC wild for electrical de icing. i'm sure the key to this question is "large aircraft" i assume this would be aircraft over 7500kg.
