Module 17. Propeller

The minimum propeller pitch is established by the

  • pitch lock.
  • superfine pitch stop.
  • flight fine pitch stop.

Explanation

The minimum (lowest) blade angle is set by the superfine, or ground-fine, pitch stop, used during starting and ground handling. The flight-fine stop limits the minimum angle only in flight at a higher value, and the pitch lock prevents inadvertent fining, so it is the superfine pitch stop that defines the absolute minimum pitch.
