A convex mirror forms a virtual image when

Explanation

A convex (diverging) mirror always forms a virtual image, because the reflected rays diverge and only appear to come from a point behind the mirror. The image is upright and reduced for every object position, which is why convex mirrors give a wide field of view as blind-spot and security mirrors.

Convex - always virtual.
