Evaluate each term: log 100 = 2 because 100 = 10 squared, then add the 2 outside the log to give 2 + 2 = 4. The expression is an addition of two separate values, not log(102) or log(200), which would only arise if the 2 were inside the logarithm.

The default base is 10.
log100=2, because 10^2=100
properties of logarithms...
2+2=4 ;)
