Induced drag

  • is equal to the profile drag at Vmd.

Induced drag falls with speed while profile (parasite) drag rises with speed; the total-drag curve is minimum where these two are equal. That speed is the minimum-drag speed (Vmd), so by definition induced drag equals profile drag at Vmd, not at the stall.
