her all the units are given in inches so the area in inches is 196inches square. Now to convert inches square to centimeter square we have to multiply 196 from 2.54 twice as its the area (1 inch= 2.54 cm). So by multiplying 196 x 2.54 x 2.54 = 1264.5 so this value is near to 1225. so thats the answer

basim is absolutely right, but I think it is better to change 1225 to 1264
