An aircraft flies 1350nm in 2 hrs 15 minutes. What is the average speed?

  • 600kts
  • 650kts
  • 850kts

Explanation from PART66Online

Average speed is distance over time. Convert 2 hours 15 minutes to 2.25 hours, then 1350 nm / 2.25 h = 600 nm per hour, which is 600 knots. The 2.25 conversion (15 minutes = 0.25 hour) is the step that must be done correctly.

The answer is: 135/60 = 1350 => (1350 * 60) /135 = 600 kts
