A heat pump:
- Creates heat from nothing without requiring any form of external energy
- Only operates in the summer months when ambient temperature is highest
- Transfers heat from a cooler area to a warmer area using external work
Explanation from PART66Online
A heat pump uses external work to move heat from a cooler region to a warmer one, the same principle as a refrigerator but used for heating. Heat cannot be created from nothing, and the device works year-round, not just in summer, so those options are incorrect.
