Module 3. Electrical fundamentals

In a series LCR circuit at resonance, R = 100 ohms, L and C are each 10 ohms. The total impedance is

  • zero ohms.
  • 100 ohms.
  • 30 ohms.

Explanation

At resonance the equal inductive and capacitive reactances cancel each other, so the reactive terms contribute nothing to the impedance. Only the resistance remains, making the total impedance equal to R, which is 100 ohms.
