To ensure that a wing stalls at the root first, stall wedges are

  • installed on the wing leading edge at the wing tip.
  • installed on the wing leading edge at the wing root.
  • installed at the wing trailing edge at the wing root.

Explanation from PART66Online

Stall (stall-inducing) wedges or strips are fitted to the leading edge near the root so the airflow there breaks away first. This makes the root stall before the tip, preserving aileron authority and giving stall warning buffet over the tailplane; mounting them at the tip or trailing edge would not achieve root-first stalling.

Hello matth.

Thank you for your report. You are absolutely right. This mistake is made by moderator who inserting questions. This is very difficult job and mistakes can occur.

Hope my project helps you. :) Project is very young and I'm everyday receiving some reports. Some of them are correct but some are because of lack of student's training. But anyway, only together we can make it better. It is not possible only by me. :) I have some plans and ideas how to improve functionality to get better training results, soon I'll introduce them. :)
