An aircraft left wing is flying low. The aileron trimmer control to the left aileron trim tab in the cockpit would be
- moved up causing the left aileron to move up.
- moved up causing the left aileron to move down.
- moved down causing the left aileron to move down.

If the left wing is low it must be raised, which requires the left aileron to move down to increase lift there. Operating the aileron trimmer to drive the trim tab upward produces an aerodynamic load that moves the left aileron down, correcting the wing-low condition without the pilot holding the control.
