Module 14. Propulsion

An aircraft flying at 800mph would typically use

  • turbojet
  • turbofan
  • turboprop

Explanation

At around 800 mph the aircraft is at high subsonic/transonic speed where high jet-velocity engines are efficient, favouring the turbojet. High-bypass turbofans are optimised for lower cruise speeds and turboprops for still lower speeds, so the very high airspeed points to a turbojet.

serzeb asking:

it could be turbofan too

turbofans cannot maintain supersonic flight by means of civil aviation aircraft that have bir engines, since its civil aviation mented, the turbojet is true, bur for military fighter jets yep since they are small in diameter they built in turbofans too
