Module 14. Propulsion

in a flow type fuel system, fuel shutoff is done by

  • mechanical ball valve
  • fcu torque motor
  • l.p fuel cock

Explanation

In a flow (flow-control) type fuel system, final fuel shutoff is achieved by a mechanical ball-type shutoff valve that positively closes the fuel supply to the burners. The FCU torque motor meters fuel rather than guaranteeing shutoff, and the LP fuel cock is an upstream isolation valve, so the mechanical ball valve performs the shutoff.

Hello!
As I understand it.... Flow type fuel system is the simplest fuel system without any additions, and therefore fuel shutoff is done by simplest way - mechanical ball valve( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_valve ).
Correct me if I'm wrong...
