In the anodic film inspection and sealing test, if a good seal has been accomplished

  • the dye mark has no importance.
  • the dye mark will not rub off.
  • the dye mark will rub off.

Explanation

In the anodic film sealing test a dye is applied and, if the film has been properly sealed, the closed pores will not absorb the dye, so the mark wipes or rubs off cleanly. If the dye stayed and would not rub off, it would show the pores remain open and the seal has failed.
